Mak Rocks : Coral nursery Project
In co-operation with the Natural Science Department of Mahidol University coral nurseries have been constructed to restore 55 species of coral that used to be here on the reefs in abundance. To simulate the natural symbiosis needed for a healthy reef - mangrove and sea grass will also be planted to keep the water clean and attract the fish back. Some coral lives up to 1000 years. The dramatic destruction of coral reefs worldwide has taken a fraction of that time.
