Getting to Koh Mak
How to get there
Koh Mak is located in the Gulf of Thailand, 60 km from Trat and 20 km from Koh Chang. There are hourly busses from Ekamai and Morchit bus stations in Bangkok and daily minivans from Kao San Rd. taking approximately 5 hours. From Trat bus station you take a 20 minutes songtaew share taxi to the pier at Laem Ngob where you can choose between slow or speed boats.
Bangkok - Trat
By car:
- Take highway route no. 3 (Bangna-Trad) via Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi to Trat. The total distance is 385 kilometres.
- Take highway route no. 3 (Bangna-Trad) and turn left to highway route no. 344 (Chonburi-Baan Bung-Klaeng). After reaching Klaeng, turn left to highway route 3 via Chanthaburi and to Trat. The total distance is 315 kilometres. Parking is available at the pier (Krom Luang), the fee is 50 Baht per vehicle per night.

By bus/coach:
- Air-conditioned coaches from Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal Station direct to Laem Ngob, Trat, leaving treble a day in the morning at 06:30 am , 07:30 am and 09:45 am. And returns from Laem Ngop leaving on 12:30 pm and 14:00 pm ( THB 250 ) journey take 5 hours. For more information, call center 1490 or go to www.transport.co.th/
- Air-conditioned coaches from Ekamai Eastern Bus Terminal Station to Trat and connect to the Laem Ngob pier by local taxi ( THB 60 - 80 ), daily leaving from 04:00 am until 24:00 pm. - Air-conditioned coaches from Morchit Northern Bus Terminal Station to Trat and connect to the Laem Ngob pier by local taxi ( THB 60 - 80 ), daily leaving from 07:30 am , 11:00 am and 22:00 pm. - Pick up at your hotel or Airport direct to Laem Ngob trips take approximately 4 hours.

Return : Trad ( Ao Thamachat - Laem Ngop ) - Bangkok ( Victory monument ) 300 baht

Laem Ngob Kom Lhoung pier to Koh Mak ( 2 times a day during June - October 2010 )
Located on route 3148, Leam Ngop is about 17 kilometers away from Trat. At the pier situated at the end of the cape.

Laem Sok pier to Koh Mak ( Not service during June - October 2010 )

Drive 3 km pass Trat city ,turn left to Baan Laem Sok (Ao Chor) and go 16 km to the end of the road and you will see "Way to the pier to Koh Kood".
For boat's passengers that travel by Laem Sok pier, we have FREE taxi van pickup from Trat bus station or at police station opposite of Trat Department store (in Trat city). For guests those arrive at 4 am in the morning, we also have FREE taxi van pickup from Trat bus station to Laem Sok pier.

The pier is located at Koh Kood BangBao pier ( Siam Beach Resort ) , Klong Chao pier ,Sa Pan Nam Luek pier and Klong Mas pier. Passengers can use public taxi on Koh Kood or contact resort that you stay. Price depends on distance
