Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort is a small family-run resort.

Ao Kao White Sand Beach Resort lies on and is named after one of most beautiful beach of Koh Mak. We are one of the pioneers in tourism on our Island. There is 5 km of sandy beach right in front of the resort. The 25 bungalows are built among a lush and many decades old coconut plantation. There is a restaurant and a internet cafe and we have several sporting equipments. (more under the activities page...)

The resort has been welcoming travelers from all over the world for the past 16 years. It is especially liked by European travelers (Scandinavian, German etc). Families and privacy lovers in particular enjoy our large, safe and natural surroundings. That's why it's some times not easy to find us, as we are not located in the immediate proximity of any pier, but don't worry we will pick you up. (see map)

Our father, Khun Somchai Sudhidhanakul, also known as Mr. Sunshine has founded this place 16 seasons ago together with his German friend Mr. Egon. If you see a gentlemen with white hair speaking German sitting at the family table, that’s him. Since he suffered from a stroke at the beginning of last year he has asked his children to take over. This is episode II and our season 1.

Rates:

You can stay at the vast majority of our bungalows for less than 50 Euro per night including breakfast. At Robin, Friday & Skipper (our 3 Fan Bungalows) for less than 30 Euro.  For our Family Bungalows Lanna we do have a Kids Stay for Free policy..... more  our promotion page. We also have kids and we don't like to be charged for each and every single activity that's why most of the activities are free, so is the transfer from and to the piers at Koh Mak

We don’t provide a phone/fax service, however, please feel free to use our complimentary internet access and WIFI to keep in touch with your loved ones. Your mobile phone should work around here as all Thai mobile operators (AIS, DTAC, True Move) have a network on the island. The island’s official post office is at Koh Mak Resort that is happy to help you with postcards, letters etc.  

 Koh Mak is an unspoilt island that has maintained its natural charm and beauty. The island is owned by several families who ensure the island develops in a sustainable way. At Koh Mak we follow the idea of ecotourism and have added hiking trails, diving schools and other worthwhile tourism developments.
